Gas Discharge

Experiment procedure

The setup resembles that of a Geissler tube. Experiments are performed with different media (discharge produces different colors) and different materials. The results can be compared and analyzed.
The following phenomena can be vividly explained: Functionality of anode and cathode, the presence of plasma, electrodes and ions, and the principle of the fluorescent tube. In addition, the structure of matter and the physics of the stellar atmosphere can be explained via a projection of the spiral lines.
