Here you can observe how light and air jockey or position – in a large machine encased in an even larger protective tubing. At the touch of a button, electric arcs emerge and flit upward between two electrodes at lightning speed. It’s a beautiful thing to behold! What’s even more beautiful is when visitors step in to act as guides of the electric arcs: with a hand crank, they can set the fan in motion and its air stream will push the lightning flashes downward once again. If the crank operator is of a combative nature, the electric arcs are forced mercilessly to the ground. Those with a more balanced outlook attempt to keep the flashes of lightning on one level. But that’s not so easy when all the lightning wants to do is escape!
